Have you been receiving those irritating telemarketing calls? Or have you picked up your blaring cell phone in the middle of the traffic to hear "mam I am calling from "FCK" bank and want to offer you a personal loan"? If not, I envy you coz I receive at least four of such calls on a good day, don't even ask on a bad one. For others who hate these calls like I do, read on, I have these fabulous 10 ways to stop those irritating telemarketing calls:
1. Tell them you are hard of hearing and that they need to up...louder...louder...louder!
2. Tell the telemarketer you are busy at the moment, and ask him/her if he/she will give you his/her home phone number so you can him/her back.
3. Ask them to repeat everything they say, several times.
4. Tell them it is dinner time, BUT ask if they would please hold. Put them on your speaker phone while you continue to eat at your leisure. Smack your food loudly and continue with your dinner conversation.
5. Tell them that all business goes through your agent, and give the phone to your five year old child.
6. After the telemarketer finishes speaking, ask him/her to marry you.
7. Tell them to speak very slowly because you want to write every word down.
8. If they start out with, "How are you today?", say "I'm so glad you asked, because no one these days seems to care, and I have all problems............"
9. Cry out in surprise, "Helen, is that you? I've been hoping you'd call! How is the family?" When they insist they are not Helen, tell them to stop joking. This works especially well if the telemarketer is really MALE.
10. Tell the HSBC call center guy to call on your office number and give him the ICICI call center number.
And please lemme know if you have any more ways. I would love to try them out.
Most people would expect me to pick up a fancy subject for this blog. But well, the case here is different. This blog is purely meant to satisfy my writing itch. So, its basically going to be about anything I feel like sharing. It is my virtual life diary.

cocktail hour or two
Discovering my new found love for cocktails, my inners screamed at me for not doing something about it. So now I have decided to find out or invent at least one cocktail each week. Presenting more than my share for this week, I have some of my personal all time favourites. Just to remind here, I still support drinking responsibly.
Almost cosmo... (coz cosmo is almost out and this one is almost in)
You need:
15 ml brandy
15 ml red wine (try Shiraz)
15 ml Grand Marnier
A splash of almond syrup
A dash of sugar syrup
Lime Juice to taste ( 3-4 drops recommended)
Now take loads of crushed ice in a shaker and pour in brandy, red wine and Grand Marnier. Add lime juice, almond syrup and sugar syrup. Now shake. Pour into a chilled martini glass and sip. Feeling like heaven guaranteed. :)
Enig-magic
You need:
30 ml vodka
30 ml gin
30 ml dark rum
15 ml peach liqueur
60 ml cranberry juice
A bottle of sprite
Lots of ice
Fill half a tall glass with ice and pour in all the ingredients one by one as listed till you have added cranberry juice. Now top it up with sprite leaving little space in the glass. You can aslo add lemon slices to add the magic. Stir well once or twice. Now sip slowly. The magic will soon get to you. Before you start floating, remember this drink is only for people who can handle it.
I hope you guys enjoyed every sip of these drinks. Wait for a week until I post some more drinks you would surely fall in love with. Till then, lets drink and be merry.

Why people judge?
One of my friends recently gave me a negative feedback on my appearance. Usually, I wouldn't have cared because of the obvious male fan following, but this time, it hurt. He almost told me that I am "not good enough to have a second look". OMG. At first, it just hurt, but later while my pain subsided with positive thoughts infused in my head forcefully, I realised, why did he need to judge me? After all, I am just his friend. Judging can be so disturbing. It creates its own vicious circle. So first he judged me, then I judged him thinking "he is manner-less" and then, my another good friend judged me for "judging him" and concluded that I wasn't any different than him. The point is, if judging is so painful and uncomforting - WHY JUDGE?
Relationship mishap and Shopping Bliss
Have you ever experienced a heart breaking and confusing relationship mishap? Well, to cut the long story short, I did so recently. Although I hardly realised how pleasurable it would be when it all happened. Minutes after i saw the dreadful email that tore my fantasies (all inclusive) apart, my friend decided to take me on a shopping spree. Little did I know that shopping could be that good a stress buster. I did spend a few grand but was over him (or so I thought) in a few hours of it all. Look out for "things you never notice" and see how good you look in them. I still can't belive I bought a pink sleeveless shirt in half price from Allen Solly. Moral of the story: the day you break up shopping is highly recommended.
P.S. Break-ups are like Sex. It hurts at first, but later on you realise how relieving it can be.
